Premier Skills Level 2 Coach Educator course

Our team members Roberto and Ben were among 36 coaches from Cape Town and Durban selected from phase 1 in 2017 to attend phase 2 in Durban. They were joined by Steve and Nathan who also progressed to phase 2 as Ambassadors Football representatives. Steve is connected to our ministry partner Cape Town City Mission and Nathan is one of our camps volunteer coaches.

During phase 1 the emphasis was on being developed as a community coach with an introduction into coach education, phase 2 focused on community development through football and the basics of becoming a coach educator. One of the highlights was learning how to take the field into the class and the class onto the field. Players are encouraged to focus on creative football themed writing and maths in class and they go through sessions on numeracy, literacy and healthy living on the field. The three year engagement will end with phase 3 next year for those selected to go further, who will then be qualified as Premier Skills Coach Educators.

We love partnering with the British Council in this Premier Skills project.
